On the occasion of the 40th anniversary of Earth Day, Morocco was the scene of an exceptional celebration held April 17-24, 2010. Along with Washington DC, New York, Mumbai, Rome and Shanghai, Rabat was selected to raise the bar for this major global event. The day’s programme included the mobilisation of citizens who contributed to reach the goal of “One Billion Acts of Green”, highlighting the initiatives of all societal stakeholders, and commemorating this very special Earth Day 2010.
A3 Communication was mandated to organise all management operations of the Earth Day event. A rich programme—including concerts, exhibitions, and symposia—was designed and put into action. In addition to organising the event, the agency designed a massive publicity campaign across television, radio, and print media. In total, the communication plan expanded to include 2000 television adverts in Arabic, Amazigh dialect and French on 9 channels; 3500 messages broadcast over 12 radio stations in Arabic, Amazigh dialect and French, and 200 press reports across 16 daily newspapers and 10 weekly magazines.
